The National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Electrical Engineering (hereinafter referred to as“the Center”) was approved in 2015. It covers a total area of about 4, 200 square meters, with more than 3, 200 sets of teaching equipment (sets) and a total equipment value of about 65 million yuan. There are 21 high-level laboratories integrating teaching and scientific research. The Center has a teaching team with a national teaching team of “Electrical Engineering and Automation” as the main body, with strong teaching and research capabilities and a reasonable structure. There are currently 56 teachers, including 29 with senior professional titles, 38 with doctoral degrees, and 9 doctoral supervisors. The Center undertakes the experimental teaching work of public basic courses such as basic electrical engineering and electronic technology for non-electrical engineering colleges in the university every year, with an annual teaching workload of about 200,000 hours. At the same time, it undertakes the experimental teaching tasks of the two majors of “Electrical Engineering and Automation” and “Automation” in the school, with an annual teaching workload of about 80,000 hours. While completing the teaching work of ordinary undergraduate students, the Center can implement seamless connection and training for “undergraduate students-postgraduate students”.
The Center aims to cultivate outstanding engineers in the field of electrical engineering by building a hierarchical and modular “1-2-4-12” practical teaching system. “1” is the goal: to cultivate outstanding engineers in the field of electrical engineering; “2” is to build two types of experimental teaching platforms: virtual and real; “4” is to build four levels of experimental teaching: basic training level, professional practice level, comprehensive design level, and research and innovation level; “12” is that each teaching level contains three types of experimental teaching modules, and there are 12 teaching modules in total. The system revolves around the goal of cultivating outstanding engineers, with one hand focusing on the construction of practical laboratories, and the other driving the integration of information technology with experimental teaching to build virtual simulation experiments, forming an experimental teaching platform combining virtuality and reality with complementary functions. On this platform, multi-level and multi-module experimental teaching work is carried out, promoting the reform of the experimental teaching mode of the Center and nurturing outstanding electrical engineers.
The Center has made remarkable achievements in experimental teaching over the years and has become an important base for the cultivation of advanced talents in electrical engineering and scientific research and technological development in the field of power engineering in Guangxi and Southwest China, with good radiation and demonstration effects.
