The Guangxi Key Laboratory of Intelligent Control and Maintenance of Power Equipment was recognized by the Science and Technology Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in August 2021, jointly established by Guangxi Power Grid Company and Guangxi University. The laboratory focuses on technological self-reliance and self-sufficiency, actively integrates into the construction of Guangxi’s modern industrial system, targets the cutting-edge technologies in the power industry, solves practical problems in power production, and strives to create a high-standard Guangxi Provincial Laboratory.

The laboratory has built a platform for school-enterprise cooperation, industrial-education integration, and theory-practice unification for scientific and technological innovation. The members of the laboratory are well-known scholars in electrical engineering and technical experts in power engineering, forming a good mechanism for deep integration of production, education, research, and application. The laboratory has three major research directions: autonomous maintenance and intelligent control of power equipment, high-performance electrical equipment and new materials, and assessment of power equipment status and emergency response. Based on the “three major achievements and three high standards” (major projects, major awards, major achievements in technology transfer and major patents, high-value patents, high-level platforms, and high-level talents), the laboratory has implemented a series of measures and achieved landmark results, providing strong support for building a modern power grid that is safe, reliable, green, efficient, and intelligent.
